THE STORY

Traminec is the Slovenian name for Traminer — a grape that has been grown in this part of Lower Styria for centuries. The Keltis version goes through extended maceration, which pulls the aromatic oils from the skins and builds the body that makes the wine table-worthy rather than just aromatic. The result lands somewhere between a white and an orange wine: floral on the nose, dry and structured on the palate, with a long finish that keeps changing.

WINEMAKING DETAILS

Traminec (Traminer), hand-harvested. Extended skin maceration — up to several months depending on the vintage — in the orange wine tradition. Spontaneous fermentation with ambient yeasts. Aged in oak barrels on lees. No fining, no filtration. Minimal sulphites. Organic, Demeter certified.

SERVING NOTE

Chill for 30 minutes before opening. Already cold? Take it out and wait 10 minutes — this orange wine is best around 12°C.

No decanting needed, but give it 15 minutes in the glass. It keeps changing and getting more interesting as it opens up.
